THE INVISIBLE SHOES
AND WHERE TO BUY THEM
As the world begun to recognize 3D printed fashion, Andreia Chaves released her "Invisible" and "Naked" shoe collection. It went viral, hitting everyone from fashion, to architecture and technology. 3D printing was something for an engineer or a design student's model- and thus had finally broken its way into something for everyday life.
The "Invisible" shoes were based off of a "chameleon effect" through optical studies. She achieved this combination by fitting laser cut mirrors to a 3D print, Nylon frame. She also experimented with traditional leather techniques to insure comfort. With the collaboration of Dutch company Freedom of Creation, Andreia was able to make manufacturing them a reality.
