The Man Machine
Japan’s Obsession With The Humanoids
In 2009, photographer Vincent Fournier went around the globe, documenting the latest robotics in the humanoid genre. Fournier is a unique artist, who captures the world of innovation and science through cinematic photography. The following images are exclusive to Japanese Humanoids, both in Japan, and at conferences around the world. A culture that excels several years ahead of it's western counterparts, it is a society that has already begun to incorporate robotics into the workforce and play with its politics.
What is a 'Humanoid'? It's the most common form of Robotics we imagine: a machine which resembles a human being.
